What Inspires Us: Kathryn Gray

We love art. We live it everyday when we create our jewelry! We especially love color and impressionistic views, which is why we were drawn to Kathryn Gray's piece which we affectionately call "Iris". The broad brush strokes, striking use of color, and fresh subject matter appeal to us most. We've had it hanging in the studio since we opened!

Looking at it day after day definitely gives us inspiration for new jewelry. Below are just a few pieces that were born due to Mrs. Gray's work!

This necklace is named "That's a Daisy!" and is avaliable in our shop right now. We love how the pale blues in our necklace match Gray's pale blues in the flower petals.

This simple, yet elegant necklace is always fun to make. The multicolored ribbon reminds us of the multicolored stripes in the irises!

How can you not see the similarities between these two pieces?! We took the colors from Kathryn's piece and put them into a necklace!

If you're interested in a necklace you've seen here or want to get into contact with Kathryn Gray (an artist local to right here in Louisville) about a piece, send us an email! sara@sarasimpsondesign.com
